ONION CHEESE TART

INGREDIENTS:
1 package pie crust for 2 (9 inch);
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese,
2 medium sliced onions,
2 tablespoons olive oil,
1 egg,
2 tablespoons mixed seasonings (Italian, pepper, rosemary leaves)
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375F. Saute the onion in two tablespoons of olive oil until golden. Stir in all seasonings. Remove from heat and set aside. On two aluminum foil lined baking sheets, unfold pie crusts. Fold crusts edges over 1 inch to form rim. Brush with one egg yolk beaten with two tablespoons water. Spoon 1/2 onion mixture on each prepared pie crust. Top with mozzarella.
Bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until crusts are golden brown.

CABBAGE AND MEAT TARTS - APPETIZER

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups finely shredded cabbage,
1 cup ground meat (pork, beef, chicken...)
1/2 cup sliced onion,
1 medium tomato, diced,
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or fresh minced garlic,
salt and pepper to taste,
slices of french bread,
olive oil or butter for grilling;
DIRECTIONS:
Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil; add meat and cook it until golden brown; add onion, cabbage, garlic, salt and pepper; stir fry for 3 , 4 minutes; add tomato and stir fry for 1, 2 minutes longer. Remove from heat, set aside.
Using olive oil or butter, grill bread slices on both sides to light golden brown. Top with cabbage and meat mixture and serve warm. Reheat leftover (if any) before serving!

HAM AND PEPPERS TART - APPETIZER

INGREDIENTS:
3 cups chopped mixed bell peppers (red,orange,green),
2 cups chopped green onion,
1 cup chopped cooked ham,
3 large eggs,
3 tablespoons olive oil,
1/2 cup flour,
1/4 cup milk,
salt,
pepper;

DIRECTIONS:
Saute onion and peppers; add ham, salt and pepper; let cool for few minutes; add eggs, flour and milk; blend all the ingredients until well coated.
Bake for 40-45 minutes at 375 F.

Serve warm or cold.
